2020 campaign analysis of melons

How did the melon price campaign go in Italy, which is the most suitable region in Italy and how important is import and export for our productions? With the data collected and processed by BMTI and Italmercati we discover the trends of the main varieties of melon sold in Italy. The start of the netted melon campaign was affected by the last stages of the lockdown, which from a distribution point of view determined a good level of demand, also thanks to the good quality of the Sicilian and North African product. From the second half of June, the campaign had regular trends, up to an increase in August in part due to the reduction in supply caused by the damage caused by hail. The quality level of the product in the summer period was average, with better quality batches and others worse.
