TRABZON (AA) - Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association (DKİB) Hazelnut and Products Sector Committee Chairman Mehmet Cirav stated that 35 percent of Turkey's hazelnut exports in 2021 were carried out from Trabzon. Cirav, in his written statement, stated that 345 thousand 433 tons of hazelnuts were exported from Turkey for 2 billion 260 million 406 dollars last year. Cirav stated that 781 million 938 thousand 644 dollars were obtained in return for the export of 116 thousand 777 tons of hazelnuts from Trabzon, and that 35 percent of Turkey's annual hazelnut exports were carried out by Trabzon. Cirav noted that there was an increase of 17 percent in quantity and 13 percent in value compared to 2020 in exports from the city, and stated that Istanbul, Giresun and Ordu follow Trabzon, which ranked first in the list of provinces that exported the most hazelnuts in 2021.
