Bitlis, Turkey, is projected to harvest 40 thousand tons of beans this year, marking a record in the republic's history. The production, which has seen a steady increase since 2013, is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The province expects to surpass its 2020 production of over 32 thousand tons, becoming the 3rd largest producer of edible dry beans in Turkey. The support from the ministry has been praised by local farmers and officials, with one farmer planning to plant more beans next year based on the successful harvest.
