The Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union (DKİB) has reported a significant increase in honey exports in the first two months of 2021, with sales to 27 countries generating an income of $4.14 million, a 74% increase compared to the same period in 2020. Notable recipients include Germany, the USA, and Kuwait. The total honey export value to Germany, the UK, Bahrain, Pakistan, China, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE was $316,277. DKİB Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu anticipates the upward trend in exports to continue throughout the year, attributing the success to the consumption of honey as a food supplement during the pandemic and the importance of branding and quality packaging in exports.
