Taiwan has received 50,000 of the 300,000 imported breeder chickens it plans to bring in to mitigate a nationwide egg shortage. The Council of Agriculture (COA) is aiding egg farmers in importing egg-laying birds to ensure a sufficient supply and expedite the retirement of low-yielding hens. Additionally, the COA aims to import 5 million shell and liquid eggs by the end of March as part of a special project to address the shortage.
