The Ministry of Agriculture in Castilla y León, Spain, is initiating the 'Horticultural' project to identify new areas for horticultural cultivation, converting lands from rainfed to irrigated. The project will be implemented in three areas, with three farmers testing various crops in each location. The goal is to increase horticultural production, improve product quality, and create more job opportunities in the rural areas. The ministry has also modernized nearly 30,000 hectares of irrigated land since 2019 to increase profitability for young farmers and stimulate economic growth in the region.
