Turks are putting 70% of their avocado production efforts into Antalya's Alanya district, spreading across 40,000 hectares. In 2022, they produced 70 million avocados, with 80% consumed domestically and 20% exported to eight countries. The Avocado Producers Union aims to produce and export around 90 million and 30 million avocados, respectively, in 2023. The fruit, known for its health benefits, is becoming increasingly popular both locally and internationally.
