The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) expects the registration of the meat-producing Bandırma Sheep, developed at the Bandırma Sheep Farming Research Institute, to be completed shortly. Institute Director Kerim Kılınç stated that the Sheep Farming Research Institute, affiliated with TAGEM, focuses on sheep farming activities and continues the breeding of merino sheep dating back to 1935. Kılınç explained that they conduct their work meticulously by incorporating technological and scientific advancements into the breeding program and noted that the institute's main subject is the Merino Sheep.
