Abalone seaweed rice has once again entered the U.S. market. The Mokpo Fisheries Food Support Center, in collaboration with Haedam Fisheries Corporation, has exported a process-improved abalone seaweed rice to the U.S. as a result of the "2025 Joint Technology Development Project," holding a shipment ceremony five days ago. This shipment of abalone seaweed rice, the second export volume for entering the U.S. market, is a product jointly researched and developed by three institutions: the Mokpo Fisheries Food Support Center, the Korea Food Industry Cluster Promotion Agency, and the Marine Bio Research Center. A total of 5,000 units (worth $15,000 USD) were shipped. The Mokpo Fisheries Food Support Center innovated the production process and received export advice from the Marine Bio Research Center to improve the product's quality.
