Spain's sunflower sector is set to start harvesting with the earliest farms in Sevillian countryside, expecting to negotiate sale contracts for the new pipe and determine fair prices based from crude sunflower oil and whole sunflower flour prices. The price of crude sunflower oil is currently around 1,050 euros/ton, and whole sunflower meal at 230 euros/ton, with the pipe price not falling below 525 euros/ton. In Andalusia, 193,980 ha of sunflower has been planted, with a reduction in high oleic sunflower sowings due to the low price differential and higher production cost. The reactivation of the horeca channel in the refining sector is causing greater optimism for prices that reflect the price of oil and flour.
