The Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, Dr. Chalermchai Sri-on, has initiated the 'Fishery Resource Restoration Project' in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province for Fiscal Year 2023, aiming to revitalize the mangrove forest ecosystem and boost crab production. This project, in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, targets setting crab production to 5,000 tons in 2023, a significant increase from the 1,600 tons of 2018. This initiative is part of a larger effort to sustainably manage fishery resources and promote community cooperation, with a release of 1.3 million sea crabs and educational programs on crab culture and breeding biology.
