Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Agricultural Technology Institute (Director Kim Tae-gyun) announced that it is pushing for patent applications for two core technologies developed through the “Jeju Agricultural Digital Transformation (DX) Foundation Establishment Project,” which are based on artificial intelligence (AI). The Institute plans to apply for patents for a technology that combines aerial imagery and artificial intelligence to identify and count individual trees in citrus orchards, as well as an intelligent sensing technology that estimates the number and size of citrus fruits using optical information. The Institute expects that the existing manual survey methods will be able to be converted into a data-based analysis system through the proposed technology.
