The new business aims to enhance supply chain efficiency and better serve both suppliers and end users. As part of the agreement, Planters will transfer its processing plant in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, as well as additional storage and procurement facilities in the region, to the joint venture. ADM, for its part, will contribute its cottonseed processing facility in Memphis, Tennessee. It is expected that the oil processing unit will continue to operate at this site, while the seed crushing operations will be discontinued. The joint venture will operate as a separate business and will have a board of directors with equal representation from both parties. The controlling stake — 60% — will belong to ADM.
