The September Monthly Bulletin of Agriculture and Fisheries by the National Statistics Institute (INE) of Spain reports significant losses in peach production due to unusual weather conditions, including hail in the interior of the Center. The hail damage made many fruits unmarketable for fresh consumption, leading to the destruction of crops harvested before the end of July. Only yellow-fleshed peaches and wicks were accepted by the manufacturing industry after mid-July. As a result, the production is projected to decrease by 25% compared to 2019, totaling 32 thousand tons.
