The All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, together with specialized associations that are part of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Forum (VAF), have appealed to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko with an urgent demand to halt the planned increase in freight rail tariffs that "Ukrzaliznytsia" intends to implement starting January 1, 2026—an indexation of 27%, and another 11% six months later. Ukrainian agribusinesses believe that such a decision is unfair, will exacerbate the logistical crisis, reduce the competitiveness of Ukrainian exports, strike a blow to the country's economy, and effectively continue the practice where the state company is forced to subsidize the business of individual oligarchic groups at the expense of taxpayers and Ukrainian businesses.
