As of March 25, 2023, Vietnam is experiencing an increase in agricultural prices, with coffee and pepper reaching high levels. Coffee prices are fluctuating between 47,900 - 48,400 VND/kg, and pepper prices range from 63,500 - 66,000 VND/kg. On the global market, Robusta and Arabica coffee prices have seen an increase, while pepper prices have also risen. Experts predict that these prices will remain stable in the first and second quarters of the year, with an increase to 75,000-80,000 VND/kg by the end of the year. Factors such as high bank interest rates, a weak global economy, currency devaluation, and the upcoming Brazilian crop yield can impact the market dynamics. The hoarding mentality of farmers and active buying by Chinese traders are expected to contribute to the rising trend of pepper prices.
