Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation has approved the export of 126,000 eggs for hatching to the United Arab Emirates, the first time such a export has been approved to that country. The approval was given following a report from the Livestock and Poultry Development Sector and the General Authority for Veterinary Services. Egypt's production of fattening poultry is approximately 1.4 billion annually, and with the measures taken by the Ministry of Agriculture, the country will be able to export more than its needs of all poultry products. There are 30 poultry production facilities registered free of bird flu in Egypt, in accordance with the regulations of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
