Egypt: Agriculture intensifies awareness among small farmers to improve their herds’ performance rates

The Livestock and Poultry Development Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture held an awareness-raising and guidance seminar at the Agricultural Administration in Farafra, New Valley Governorate, in coordination with the New Valley Agriculture Directorate. Dr. Tarek Suleiman, Head of the Livestock and Poultry Development Sector, said that the seminar addressed how to use by-products of field crops and agricultural processing waste in animal feed, whether by direct use, preservation in the form of silage, drying, grinding and using them in feed mixtures. The seminar also addressed the best pastoral and nutritional methods for meat and dairy cattle to obtain the best performance rates that achieve the highest productivity and the best economic return.
