In 2024, Egypt will conduct its third national campaign of the year to vaccinate livestock against foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever across all governorates. This initiative is part of the country's efforts to ensure food safety and security, and to boost livestock health. The campaign will cover cows, buffaloes, sheep, and goats. The General Authority for Veterinary Services will provide all necessary vaccines, procedures, and equipment to carry out the campaign successfully. Breeders will also be educated on the importance of tracking livestock numbers, registration, and vaccination records.
