Italy: Agrifish EU, Fefac requests to reduce the pressure on raw material prices

In the EU Council of Agriculture Ministers on 25 January, the Portuguese Minister Maria do Ceu Antunes outlined the priorities for the first half of 2021, the one with the presidency of Portugal. On the agricultural front, the goal is to conclude the CAP reform negotiations by the spring. At the meeting, an informal summit held by videoconference, ministers encouraged the presidency to continue to follow the general orientation of the EU Council, even if some openness emerged on some amendments of the Parliament. Emphasis was placed on the need to simplify the rules and on finding a balance between environmental and socio-economic sustainability. The meeting also addressed other issues, including those brought to the attention of the Portuguese minister by Fefac, the Federation of European feed producers.
