Argentina is a leading exporter of soybeans, with 80% of its production being exported and the remaining 20% used domestically. The soybean complex, which includes grains, flour, oil, and biodiesel, is the country's primary export sector. For the 2023/24 campaign, Argentina's soybean production is projected to reach 57.2 million tons, with 9% being exported as unprocessed soybeans, 79% used for 'crush', and 12% used domestically. The main products of the 'crush' process are soy flour, pellets, and expellers, with 95% of the flour generated being exported. Argentina specializes in exporting by-products like flour, pellets, and soybean expellers, while Brazil and the United States focus on unprocessed bean exports. Argentine agro-industrial exports recovered in 2023 after a drought, with companies in the sector liquidating US$ 1,999 million in November, a 99% year-on-year increase.
