Beef prices in Jakarta remain high, with the price of pure beef increasing to Rp. 139,022 per kg, as reported by the Jakarta Food Information Monitoring. The highest price was recorded at Johar Baru Market at Rp. 150,000 per kg. The Secretary General of the Association of Indonesian Meat Import Entrepreneurs, Suhandri, attributes the price increase to the local cattle supply and high demand for beef, especially with the upcoming Lebaran holiday. He predicts that the price of beef may further increase to Rp. 140,000 - 145,000 per kg by Eid.
