Moroccan markets in general are witnessing an unprecedented wave of price hikes, including the markets of the southern regions, where many citizens have found themselves spontaneously refraining from buying vegetables and fruits, and even camel meat, which is a staple in the "Hassani cuisine," which is considered part of the authentic Moroccan Hassani culture. This is due to the continuous rise in prices of these items, despite recent rainfalls, especially in central and northern Morocco, which are the main suppliers to the southern regions in terms of vegetables, cattle, sheep, goat, and poultry.
