Albania's greenhouse horticulture sector experienced favorable weather conditions this season, allowing for uninterrupted cultivation of cucumbers and an earlier tomato harvest. Despite these favorable conditions, data shows that greenhouse vegetable volumes have increased by only 1% in the first four months of the year. Export volumes and types were not significantly affected, with tomatoes being the main export. However, greenhouse growers have reported a reduction in investments due to rising input costs, higher tax burdens, and rural depopulation. The selling price for greenhouse-grown tomatoes ranges from 40 Lek to 70 Lek per kilogram.
