Kazakhstan has experienced a significant decrease in alcohol production at the beginning of the year, coinciding with a public campaign that saw many areas declaring themselves alcohol-free zones. The production of cognac, beer, vodka, and wine fell by 47.1%, 34.8%, 13.4%, and 4.7% respectively compared to the same period last year. This initiative, adopted by 78 villages in the republic, has led to a reduction in serious crimes, road accidents, and domestic offenses.
