REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEMANGGUNG -- Tobacco is one of the topics under discussion in the Draft Law (RUU) on Strategic Commodities at the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Republic of Indonesia. "The issue of tobacco is currently being discussed in the Draft Law on Strategic Commodities. There are eight strategic commodities that will be included in the RUU, all from plantations, and the eighth one is tobacco," said Member of Commission V of the DPR RI, Sofyan Dedy Ardyanto, in Magelang, Saturday (6/9/2025). He conveyed this during a workshop on empowering community groups in the field of search and rescue in Magelang Regency. "I happen to be assigned as one of the members of the working committee (panja). I focus on tobacco because one of our electoral districts (dapil) here is Temanggung, a tobacco-producing area," he said.
