In Dongdaxin Village, Gaotang County, Shandong Province, a new agricultural approach has been adopted, where corn and peanuts are intercropped, bringing an additional income of about 2,000 yuan per acre. This method involves planting corn more densely with peanuts interspersed, resulting in higher yields and improved soil conditions. Since 2019, Qingping Town has adopted this planting mode across over 6,000 acres of arable land, with plans to expand. There are 69 part-time science and technology commissioners in Gaotang County who bring new crop varieties, planting models, and plant protection technologies to the region.
