(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Han Ju-hong = The Central Disaster Management Headquarters for African Swine Fever (ASF) announced on the 4th that it has confirmed an outbreak of African swine fever at a pig farm (housing 2,400 pigs) in Changnyeong County, Gyeongnam Province. This year, African swine fever has been confirmed for the seventh time, following Gangneung in Gangwon Province, Anseong and Pocheon in Gyeonggi Province, Yeongwang in Jeollanam Province, Gochang in Jeollabuk Province, and Boryeong in Chungcheongnam Province. The headquarters has dispatched an initial response team and an epidemiological investigation team to the farm to control the entry and exit of outsiders and vehicles. The pigs at the farm are planned to be culled according to the African Swine Fever Emergency Action Guidelines (SOP). On the 5th, the headquarters issued a temporary movement restriction order until 2:30 AM for 24 hours for personnel and vehicles at pig farms, slaughterhouses, feed factories, and other livestock-related facilities in Changnyeong County and adjacent 8 cities and counties (Hapcheon, Uiryeong, Haman, Changwon, Milyang in Gyeongnam Province; Cheongdo, Goryeong in Gyeongbuk Province; and Dalseong County in Daegu).
