European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Mr Christoph Hansen, will embark on his first high-level mission to Japan from 8 to 13 June 2025, coinciding with the EU's participation in the Osaka World Expo. The mission aims to discuss trade barriers, promote geographical indications and organic products, and implement the EU-Japan Free Trade Agreement. Hansen will be accompanied by a delegation of up to 100 senior representatives of European companies specializing in meat, dairy, wine, olive oil, fruit, and vegetables, with a focus on SMEs with export capacity. The mission will also establish business contacts between European and Japanese agri-food companies and explore new opportunities for cooperation.
