Argentine exporters have seen a significant increase in the supply of pome seeds between January and April 2020, with a notable rise in exports to Brazil and Russia. The country exported 181 thousand tons of pears and over 31 thousand tons of apples during this period. Brazil imported 33.2 thousand tons of pears and 10.97 thousand tons of apples, marking a 399% increase compared to the same period in 2019. Russia also increased its import of Argentinean fruits, bringing in 53.7 thousand tons of pears. Despite these increases, economic and weather conditions have led to a reduction in the seed crop in Argentina.
