A study by the Argentine Enterprise University (UADE) reveals that the average salary in Argentina can buy 57 kilos less of barbecue meat in September 2023 compared to January 2017. The report also highlights that overall meat consumption in Argentina has decreased by 31% in the past three decades, attributed to factors such as the growing popularity of vegan and vegetarian diets and increasing prices of beef. Despite the decline in beef consumption, the study notes that the consumption of other meats, such as chicken and pork, has increased as consumers opt for cheaper options.
