Asian hornets staged a genocide of honey bees in Europe

In Europe, they are worried about the spread of Asian hornets on the continent, which are destroying the population of honey bees. Italian deputies in the European Parliament called on the European Commission to take urgent measures to counter this threat, UNIAN informs. Yellow-legged hornets, common in Southeast Asia, were first discovered in Europe two decades ago. They first appeared in France, and then spread to neighboring countries - Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Italy. In particular, in Italy, they caused some chaos when in 2012 they began to destroy local bees in the northern regions of the country. Bees are vital not only for the commercial production of honey, but also for maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
