The first week of May, the Andalusian early new potato harvest campaign began in Andalusia - in the provinces of Seville, mainly, Córdoba, Cádiz and Huelva, which, together with that harvested in the fields of Cartagena, is the first European potato that reaches the markets in significant volumes, to supply the supply of conservation potatoes, of French origin in a very high percentage. The potato is not escaping the consequences of the current period of drought that affects the agriculture of our country, and that is marking a harvest campaign characterized by the low generalized yields that are being obtained. Although the last sowings carried out in January may obtain higher yields, we can speak of a production reduction of around 35% compared to a normal campaign.
