When spring crops are sown in a mixture of cover crops, they are naturally destroyed in winter by the effect of low temperatures. The frozen plants form a protective layer of dead mulch on the surface of the field. Under the influence of weather conditions, the remains of the cover crops become brittle and relatively easy to manage. In spring, before sowing the next crop, the "remains" of the cover crops are usually removed mechanically, and the dead remnants are mixed with the soil.
