Australia is set to open its market to Thai avocados and cooked ducks, following the approval of an animal hygiene certificate and the request for an import permit. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in Thailand and the Ambassador of Australia to Thailand have discussed expediting the certification inspection and preparation of import conditions for these products. Once approved, Thailand expects to export approximately 1,000 tons of cooked ducks to Australia annually, valued at 1.734 million baht. This comes as Thailand is also considering responding to Australia's questions regarding importing cooked duck. Both countries anticipate a successful cooperation in the opening of the Thai cooked duck market and the soon opening of the Australian avocado market.
