Azerbaijan: Apple exports up in 2022, persimmons down

Azerbaijan is summing up the export of fruits and vegetables in 2022. The volume of foreign supplies of apple increased by more than 20%, but the export of persimmon fell by 8%. The country exported 147,632 tons of fresh persimmons in 2022, which is 15.2% less than in 2021, the government told Interfax-Azerbaijan. Persimmon export revenue in 2022 amounted to $91 million 586.68 thousand (a decrease of 12.5%). The main export of these products fell on Russia: in 2022, 130.927 thousand tons of fresh persimmons were exported to the Russian Federation (a decrease of 8.4%) in the amount of $106 million 412.61 thousand (a decrease of 9.14%). In general, the Russian Federation accounted for 88.7% of the total export of fresh persimmons from Azerbaijan. The second major exporter was Ukraine, where 14.124 thousand tons were sent in the amount of $4 million 787.32 thousand.
