The article reports on the completion of the barley harvest in Rio Grande do Sul, with a total cultivated area of 34,398 hectares. However, the productivity was lower than expected, with a reduction of 6.62%, resulting in a total production of 110,219 tons and an average yield of 3,204 kg per hectare. Despite this, barley was the winter crop with the smallest reduction among the grains grown in the state. The majority of the production, approximately 95%, was used by the beer industry. However, some lots were disqualified due to quality issues, and the average price of first-class barley was R$80.00 per 60-kilo bag in the Erechim region.
