Belarusian scientists are advocating for the country to prioritize the import substitution of sunflower oil with rapeseed oil, highlighting the quality and suitability of the latter for culinary use. They also emphasize the need to address the shortage of protein in animal feed by focusing on the cultivation of rapeseed and perennial grasses, especially legumes. The researchers suggest increasing the sowing of leguminous crops, such as lupine, peas, and sunflowers, to make up 90% of the perennial grasses sown, in order to mitigate the protein deficiency in the country.
