The Belgian Federal Police dissolved a farmers' demonstration in the European Quarter of Brussels on Thursday, following numerous attacks on buildings and the vicinity of the European Parliament and violent clashes between officers and attendees that resulted in one seriously injured man. The protesters, some with their faces covered, arrived at the heart of the European Quarter at 14:00 local time (13.00 GMT) with dozens of tractors and set fire to dozens of tires in the center of Luxembourg Square, in front of the Eurochamber, which caused a large column of black smoke.
