By Denise Luna Rio, 10/21/2025 - The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has approved the financing of R$ 500 million for Rumo to automate train circulation. According to the bank, the initiative will increase the efficiency and operational safety of the railway network in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Goiás, among others. The BNDES support will be through the Finem line, in the 'BNDES More Innovation' program. Rumo's project, named Positive Train Control 2.0 (PTC 2.0), consists of a train dispatching system designed to operate safely and be able to accurately determine the location, direction, and speed of trains along the entire northern operation network.
