Boryeong City in South Korea is investing 14.4 billion won over three years to build a sea cucumber mass production facility. The goal is to boost production at existing sea cucumber farms and enhance the competitiveness of the aquaculture industry. The funds will be used to create eco-friendly habitats, spawning grounds, and stock mother and baby ginseng. Sea cucumbers, known for their nutritional value and unique taste, are a significant source of income for fishermen, mainly through exports to China. The project aims to generate job opportunities and provide a stable livelihood for urban youth and fishermen's children, thereby revitalizing the local community.
