Kebab has become the most preferred food in Turkey, with a 9% increase in demand in the first half of 2021, surpassing hamburger and pizza. This shift is attributed to changing eating habits, increased women's participation in the workforce, and the rise of online food ordering. The online food service industry's turnover has doubled, generating around 7 billion TL annually. The Media Monitoring Center (MTC) confirmed this trend in its research, which indicated a 9% increase in kebab mentions across various platforms compared to the previous year. Kebab's popularity extends abroad, with 2,600 foreign websites mentioning it in the last month.
