Brazil has the best first semester in pork production

Brazil registered in the first half of 2025 the highest volume of pork production ever recorded for the period since the beginning of the historical series in 1997. According to the Agricultural Economic Bulletin, released this Thursday (21) by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), from the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), 2.72 million tons were produced. The result is only behind the record obtained in the second half of 2024, when production reached 2.73 million tons. "The performance of the sector confirms the consolidation of the activity and maintains the pace of expansion of recent years," pointed out the analysts from Deral. The production was the result of the slaughter of 29.2 million animals, the second highest volume in the series.
