Brazil is the largest commercial producer of guarana in the world

In Maués, a city known as the land of guarana, located in the interior of the Amazon, both the rural population and the city consume the fruit (guarana) in their daily lives, which, for the indigenous people, means “source of wisdom”. Since 2018, the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) has recognized Maués guarana with the Geographical Indication (GI) seal, in the Indication of Origin modality, which attests to the quality of the product made in the region. In addition, several producers also won the organic seal, which added value to the guaraná produced there.
