Brazil is taking preventive measures against Avian Influenza in response to the disease's spread in neighboring countries, with a task force being set up by Mapa in collaboration with various other entities. A study by FGV estimates that an outbreak could lead to monetary losses of BRL 13.5 billion and the loss of 46,000 jobs. The task force aims to mitigate both health and economic impacts. Other agricultural defense issues will also be discussed in the 2nd Sedagro seminar, including the effectiveness of agricultural auditors during the pandemic and the contributions of various stakeholders towards agricultural defense. The seminar will feature discussions on government programs, agroindustries, laboratories, and border units.
