The average export value of fresh beef from Brazil continued to decline in the week leading up to Christmas, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade. Last week, 34,718 tons of beef were exported at an average value of $4,893 per ton, a decrease of $93 from the average value of the first 17 days of December. From December to the 24th, Brazil exported 116,634 tons at an average value of $4,958 per ton. Additionally, the reference price for cattle in the main exporting states of Brazil fell by 7 cents per kilo carcass, from $3.35 to $3.28. São Paulo has the highest value at $3.48, while Mato Grosso do Sul is at $3.25.
