Brazil, the world's leading exporter of beef and one of the largest exporters of pork, is increasing its business with China and Mexico after the United States imposed a 50% tariff in August on shipments of various Brazilian products, including beef. The United States used to be the second-largest market for Brazilian beef, but it is not a significant destination for pork. Pork exports amounted to 151,600 tons, 25.9% more than the previous year, and revenues reached a record 368.4 million dollars, 29.9% higher, according to data from the pork and poultry lobby ABPA. ABPA expects the trend to continue, and forecasts that pork exports will reach 1.45 million tons in 2025, up from 1.35 million tons in 2024. Brazil also exported a record 314,700 tons of fresh beef in September, 25.1% more than in the same month the previous year, according to government trade data.
