In October, Brazil experienced a notable increase in melon exports, with a total of 35,000 tons shipped, marking a 63% rise from the previous month. Despite this monthly uptick, which was anticipated due to the progress of the harvest in states like Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará, the overall export volume fell by 23% compared to October of the previous year. This decline is largely attributed to logistical challenges faced by exporters, including high sea freight costs, a shortage of containers, and subpar port services, which have negatively impacted the profitability of melon exports in Brazil.
