South Korea and Guatemala have approved the export of new agricultural products from Brazil, including sesame, gelatin, and collagen. South Korea is a major importer of agricultural products, with imports exceeding US$2.85 billion in 2024, while Brazil exported US$248.9 million in agricultural products to Guatemala last year. The new market access is the result of cooperation between the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), and is expected to strengthen commercial ties between the countries. Since 2023, Brazilian agribusiness has secured 317 market openings, positioning Brazil as a leading global supplier of food and agricultural inputs.
