Brazilian watermelon exports in December 2022 reached a record high, with nearly 18,400 tons exported, marking a 9% increase from the previous year. The total revenue for the month was US$ 12 million, a 57% increase compared to December 2021. Despite this, the overall volume performance of the 2022/23 harvest was 20% lower than the 2021/22 record. The increase in exports is attributed to increased demand during the end-of-year festivities. However, it is expected that the export rhythm may slow down in January due to the European winter period.
